Christina Tosi's tips for choosing Valentine's Day chocolates

More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate will be sold in the lead up to Valentine’s Day. But how do you decide which ones to choose to show your love? We enlisted Momofuku Milk Bar’s celebrated pastry chef Christina Tosi to share her favorite picks. “I tried to … go through my history of chocolate,” she said. “For me, it all starts with the classic heart-shaped Whitman’s chocolate sampler. My grandmas always gave it to me as a kid for Valentine’s Day.”

Watch the video for her tips, and see below for a list of her top treats for your Valentine:

Wondering what is the best chocolate for V-Day? Chocolate is categorized into 4 groups: mass market (Hershey's bar) mass market premium (See's), gourmet (Lake Champlain Chocolates), prestige (MarieBelle). Here's my list:
Christopher Elbow A...rtisanal Chocolates: www.elbowchocolates.com
CocoaBella Chocolates: www.cocoabella.com
Recchiuti Confections: www.recchiuti.com
Fran's Chocolates: www.franschocolates.com
Ghirardelli Chocolate Co. www.ghirardelli.com
And in my book I list scrumptious chocolates from Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, England, and Spain. (You can order online.)

In my opinion, the best truffles are from Truffle Hill Chocolates in Excelsior, MN. http://www.trufflehillchocolates.com

For something really unique I like Flan King They have an amazing chocolate flan. They even have a heart shaped size for Valentine's day and anniversaries which is kinda cool. I just got 10% off with this code - GS3255 if anyone else wants to try it.
